Creative Director Mary-Anne Reed has an extensive background in graphic design, publishing and writing.
She completed her initial education (B.A. in English) at U.C.L.A. Her career as a graphic designer began in 1990 when she received training from a variety of teachers, renowned local artists, and educational institutions including U.C.S.B. and Ventura College.
In 1998, she founded Amazing Graphic Design, which continues to serve many businesses in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties and in the outlying areas.
Her career as a writer started in 1970. For five years, she was on staff for ‘TEEN Magazine, where she wrote both editorial and advertising copy. During the 1980's, she worked for Occidental Petroleum as a project manager for their publications including annual reports (for which she received an award in 1980). She also wrote extensively for several Ventura County publications including Dining and Doing Magazine, The Business Digest, The Reporter, and Ojai Valley News, where she was also the restaurant editor and the home and garden editor. During that time, she also wrote publicity for many Ojai businesses including Ojai Valley Community Hospital, Thacher School and Rains Department Store.
